      Pros

      If you are a dockmen, every week you have your check. There are guys that are working 7 day a week, ot and double pay you can really make some huge money. Just as anything else, you want to make big money have to work hard for it. Great insurance and pension plan if a dockmen.

      Cons

      Supervisors get paid once a month. As a dockmen you work weekends friday and sunday very difficult to work decent hours. No vacation for the first 3 years but sick days 5 per year.Cold on the dock.

      Pros

      Low stress environment. No cost Healthcare benefits. An amazing Defined Benifit Pension. Terrific Company to work for.

      Cons

      Working on a cold dock in the Winter with do doors. Some workers that don’t appreciate the benifits of working under a Teamster contract.

      Pros

      Pay is best in the business. $100,000+ first year as a road driver. Year two I made $107,000… and took two months off for cancer surgery. Year three I made $129,000. I average 2-3 nights per week in a hotel. Usually only 1 night out then back home the next day. Frequently running turns (home at end of the run). Insurance is free and EXCELLENT coverage. I paid $1,000 total out-of-pocket for cancer surgery.

      Cons

      Not much life/work balance. Frustrating spending time on the extra board waiting to get a call to go to work, but with more seniority you get less wait time.
