      Pros

      The company is loyal to their employees. Politics in the field is very limited, and as long as you perform you will be treated fairly at ABF.

      Cons

      Old Fashioned. Slow to react to the market. Not very innovative. ABF is a late mover to any market, and ABF does not have any competitive advantages at this time.

      Pros

      Low stress environment. No cost Healthcare benefits. An amazing Defined Benifit Pension. Terrific Company to work for.

      Cons

      Working on a cold dock in the Winter with do doors. Some workers that don’t appreciate the benifits of working under a Teamster contract.

      Pros

      Pay is best in the business. $100,000+ first year as a road driver. Year two I made $107,000… and took two months off for cancer surgery. Year three I made $129,000. I average 2-3 nights per week in a hotel. Usually only 1 night out then back home the next day. Frequently running turns (home at end of the run). Insurance is free and EXCELLENT coverage. I paid $1,000 total out-of-pocket for cancer surgery.

      Cons

      Not much life/work balance. Frustrating spending time on the extra board waiting to get a call to go to work, but with more seniority you get less wait time.
