      Pros

      The pay is good for part time work. Union jobs always pay more than their non union counterparts in the same industry

      Cons

      They tell you that as a casual employee that you can work according to your availability, but as soon as you tell them you can ' t work a certain day you become black listed. They constantly pick on the casuals about production because that can't pick on the full time union employees . For example management will tell you that your performance needs improvement yet you don't have the tools to do your job such as a forklift or pallets to put freight on

      Pros

      Low stress environment. No cost Healthcare benefits. An amazing Defined Benifit Pension. Terrific Company to work for.

      Cons

      Working on a cold dock in the Winter with do doors. Some workers that don’t appreciate the benifits of working under a Teamster contract.

      Pros

      Pay is best in the business. $100,000+ first year as a road driver. Year two I made $107,000… and took two months off for cancer surgery. Year three I made $129,000. I average 2-3 nights per week in a hotel. Usually only 1 night out then back home the next day. Frequently running turns (home at end of the run). Insurance is free and EXCELLENT coverage. I paid $1,000 total out-of-pocket for cancer surgery.

      Cons

      Not much life/work balance. Frustrating spending time on the extra board waiting to get a call to go to work, but with more seniority you get less wait time.
