-not enough hands on training. I REPEAT--- MORE HANDS ON TRAINING!
- I feel like I have no idea WHAT I am doing in the field. Yes, we are taught 40 hours of THEORY but it is a compeltely different animal when using that knowldege out in the real world
- Not enough time spent with supervisor when you reach out and let them know that you are having a hard time
- Other coworkers that have just started have expressed that they are having difficulty obtaining enough hours
- Working in a school setting-- No one seems to be on the same page with the behavior plan when it comes to teachers, school staff, and school district IEP . Expectations on the role of the BI should be explained clearly to EVERYONE
- HR is VERY slow to respond. Often taking 3 days to respond to emails or NEVER responding at all. This is NOT a unique experience. It's best to call them directly if you want a response.
- If you want to promote you have to be proactive. Not necessarily a con but just be aware of that.
