Pros
It was work from home but that option has been removed for the operations teams. You can learn a lot about how to operate an IT organization in 2008 if you are nostalgic for antiquated tools and processes.
Cons
Hours are horrible and that effort is not appreciated. You are openly expected to be available for support on PTO. Process paralyzed. Instead of rebuilding, they continually add more layers on top of a bad foundation. This makes core functions disjointed, cumbersome and frustrating for everyone There are serious integrity issues. I saw a pattern of committing to bonuses and then weaseling out. They are good at paying market for the role next to your name, but that just means the role next to your name is a grade or two below your responsibility. Tricks like changing the Change Manager title to Business Analyst mean they can pat themselves on the back for staying in range and screw someone over at the same time. But the biggest problem is fear. They preach innovation but nobody at the decision level has the guts to stick their neck out. That is what has frozen them, settled into something devolving out of what worked well enough almost 10 years ago.
