Pros
• Very good co-workers; extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help. • Flexible work hours; work from home is allowed. • Has an open mind about products of acquired companies; gives them a fair review. • Has tools and processes in place for employee skill enhancement. • Financials are in rude health; always highlighted by management.
Cons
• Senior management is arrogant, dismissive and unconcerned about employee concerns; only has eyes for the balance sheet and little else; even small claims are rejected or delayed for flimsy reasons, such as not having budget (how ironic). • Existing customers don't like dealing with ACI; they get talkers instead of solution providers; no new customers on the horizon. • Permanent employees are looked at with only the 'cost' angle; focus is largely on squeezing them with threats; in spite of major resource crunch, hiring (of permanent staff) has been frozen and firing is on at full swing for no rhyme or reason. • Contractors are hired at exorbitant rates with no accountability and expected to perform the work of senior resources as soon as they join. • Senior management whimsically decides impossible and unrealistic targets for all projects in terms of time, quality etc); no regard for complexity or anything else; employees are pushed to work long hours/weekends to meet deadlines with no reward or appreciation. • A 'one size fits all' approach is followed towards all projects/products; makes life extremely difficult for employees adding major overheads and affecting delivery; more focus on documentation and preparing reports to show management and less on the actual work. • Payscales/increments no good with people working their socks off; employees don't have time to focus on their self-development. • Highly political; C.Y.A culture prevalent; focus on finding scapegoats and escalations at every instant; dissension and infighting actively encouraged and used by management to deny people their due. • No willingness from management to take responsibility; instead accountability is demanded from those below who have no powers of control.
