Pros

Many great coworkers Opportunities for promotion and learning on the job Medical benefits Privately owned Lots of community involvement Good work/life balance for most

Cons

Limited vacation/sick time Non competitive pay for the industry unless you're a programmer More interested in having you in the building than the quality of your work Most departments have no budget for tools they need or training if it can save a buck Abusive managers are always protected if they have the right connections Departments never talk to each other - there's always confusion about what's going on and who's responsible for things Marketing and Sales barely know the product they are trying to sell

As an HR employee at ACST, this review is tough for me. Some of the things you've said caught me by surprise and hurt my feelings a little. However, I remembered the old adage that "perception is reality”. What you perceive is your reality and ACST has missed the opportunity to frame your perception. That’s completely our fault. Part of my surprise with your review is because I’m excited about the projects we’re working on for ACST’s future. I’m guessing you haven’t had the opportunity to go to one of Steve Kriter’s Town Hall meetings. Steve is meeting with small groups of employees to answer questions and concerns regarding current and future plans for ACST. If you haven’t been invited to a meeting yet, you’ll be invited shortly. I urge you to accept the invite and come prepared with questions. You mention abusive managers, which is beyond concerning and not at all a part of ACST culture. Please know that HR is your advocate. Our customers are the ACST employees. However, if you don’t feel comfortable coming to HR, please talk with someone that you do trust so that the problem can be dealt with. If you’ve been with ACST over 5 years you’ve given a lot of your time to the organization and it’s appreciated. Going forward, I hope that you give us the opportunity to change your perception of ACST.

Pros

Insurance, 401K, remote/office flexibility. On site NP & Chiro.

Cons

Employee value has been steadily declining over the last 5 years. Sold to a private equity in December and had some major layoffs of central employees that had projects they were working on. Huge pressure on existing employees to pick up the pieces without any clear hand off. Resources are scarce and no clear understanding of goals.
