Pros

Some days I work in the field getting dirty and some days I go into dealerships and do sales pitches, it's really a good mix and I'm able to utilize the skills I learned working in sales and the skills I learned inspecting off lease vehicles. Pay is generous compared to other inspection companies. We get Reimbursed for our personal phones even though they give us a work phone. Health Benefits are excellent! I pay next to nothing for a $1,500 deductible plan. vacation time is standard. Higher ups in the company actually have a heart and care about their employees. When something tragic happens to someone in our ACV Family we rally together making sure they're taken care of Financially and emotionally. The owner and CEO makes it a point to try to meet every new higher. The Owner is not absent!!! He is visiting different territorys and trying to help and grow ACV. Vermont (my territory) had a Snowstorm a few weeks ago and we were short staffed so guess where the owner was? In Vermont Helping his employee brush cars off getting dirty, Cold and wet! You cannot say that about too many owners.

Cons

I have been sitting in front of the computer for 20 minutes and cannot think of a Con.

Pros

Freedom to mostly self-manage, occasionally get to interact with cool people and take pictures of cars for a living. Lots of daily driving also meant nice mileage checks, but heavy wear on my car.

Cons

99.9% of the work is photographing junk heaps that belong in a scrap yard and being encouraged to market them in better condition than they actually are, then the inspector is punished for any post-sale issues. Manager was a control freak while simultaneously being almost entirely absent; I think I saw them in-person twice in the almost 2 years I worked there. Working in direct sunlight in extreme temperatures on blacktop with a phone that constantly overheats and most cars dont have working A/C on top of smelling like pure garbage.
