Pros

It's a great place to start out when you need to find a way to gain office experience for college students. What was great about being a block clerk at Adesa was learning to work in a fast-paced environment, since auctioneers announce bids at 90km/hr. Like I mentioned, aside from learning what you do as a block clerk when working with auctioneers, adesa provides the opportunity for you to gain front counter experience. Students can gain both customer service and other general administrative experience (processing tax forms for dealerships, confirming purchases, using Adesa's computer software programs to generate car information for dealership representatives). They offered the best part-time hours for students. I was able to go to school and get work experience simultaneously. So by the time I graduated, I was able to apply full-time positions at other big organizations, with Adesa's reputation. Lastly, I had to leave Adesa for my last semester of school, since it had conflicted with my school schedule. After I had graduated, I had asked if I could work there again, while finding a full-time position elsewhere. They were more than willing to recruit me, even though it was a temporary position that I requested for. I had a great supervisor, and whenever I needed help, she was always there.

Cons

There isn't much room for growth and opportunity for those who are looking for a more full-time permanent position. Like said, it's a good place to start out for college students. The block clerk position is quite repetitive.
