Pros
Decent benefits and RRSP options Different areas/departments you could work in Some of the people are good to work with Great if you are looking for part time work if you are a student/stay at home parent/retired Good place to start if you need something to put on your resume. There are usually lots of job openings so its not hard to get in.
Cons
Pay is not great and unless you start right at the bottom there is no way to grow in the company. There are some opportunities to move "up" but most of the time you are just moving sideways into a different department for marginal pay increase if any. Promotions are negligible, you are lucky to get 10% increase for twice the responsibility. The turn over rate is insane. It looks like a big growing company because of all the job opportunities but that's because people don't stick around and eventually you have new people training newer people and every department is struggling because no one knows what they're doing. Head office is a joke. They don't understand anything about how the auction works and they make agreements with the customers that cause unnecessary extra work and stress for everyone. Managers only care about the customer needs and don't care how the work gets done, just that it gets done while they provide little guidance or help and then get on your case about the extra hours they had to pay you for to get it done. Bottom line - Don't stay long.
