Pros

Hybrid position helps with work life balance.

Cons

Since recent executive leadership changes, there has been a noticeable shift in workload expectations, internal support, and career progression. These changes have been relatively rapid and widely felt across the organization. The company promotes an open-door policy and encourages feedback. In practice, concerns are often dismissed or reframed as negative, even when solutions are offered. Departments lack consistent accountability. Issues are frequently passed between teams instead of being fully resolved. Client-facing teams are often left to handle upstream problems. Limited training and unclear responsibilities contribute to delays and inefficiencies. Offshoring has reduced domestic staffing. Workloads have increased significantly for remaining employees. Stress levels are higher, and processes are slower. There are also ongoing concerns about job stability. Career growth is limited and less transparent than in the past. Advancement is not clearly defined, and opportunities are less accessible. Compensation does not always reflect workload or market expectations. Overall, this is a fast-paced environment with high expectations. Support structures have not kept pace, and career growth can feel influenced more by internal connections and location rather than by individual performance, dedication, or the value of work delivered.

Pros

Amazingly supportive work culture at all levels. Plenty of opportunities for career growth. You’re always surrounded by brilliant interesting people who are fun to work with. Employees are treated with respect and trust.

Cons

Highly complex organization operating out of 100s of different applications with thousands of employees worldwide. It’s an incredibly difficult organization to navigate within. Also Numerous internal quality checks and some legacy systems can make certain tasks seem unnecessarily cumbersome.

Pros

- Established company with a long history and relatively stable business operations. - Provides a sense of job stability compared to many organizations navigating rapid changes in the current AI-driven market. - Lower risk of frequent restructuring or large-scale layoffs than many high-growth technology companies. - Opportunity to work with experienced employees who have deep institutional and domain knowledge. - Predictable work environment that may appeal to individuals seeking long-term stability over rapid change. - Strong choice for professionals who value job security and a steady career path in an uncertain economic climate.

Cons

- Documentation is limited or rusted, and many operational processes lack clear runbooks or standardized procedures, making onboarding and troubleshooting more difficult than necessary. - If you're coming from a modern, fast-paced engineering environment, the organization may feel behind current industry practices and tooling. - Internal politics can sometimes outweigh technical merit or execution. - There are teams with very long-tenured employees where change and innovation can be difficult to drive. - Decision-making often involves multiple layers of approval, resulting in significant bureaucracy and slower execution. - Processes can move slowly, and collaboration is not always transparent across teams, leading to inefficiencies and occasional confusion around ownership. - In some areas, roles, responsibilities, and operational processes are not clearly defined, creating unnecessary chaos and inconsistent ways of working. - Engineering standards and best practices vary considerably between teams, making cross-team collaboration challenging. - Organizational change tends to happen slowly, which can be frustrating for employees who are focused on modernization, automation, and continuous improvement.
