Pros
AECOM offers some good projects, and because of their global reach, there is opportunity for interesting foreign assignments. Compensation and benefits are competitive within the A&E industry.
Cons
AECOM is a disorganized mess due to unwieldy size and constant reorganization with its never-ending acquisition of other firms.... I myself came to AECOM via their acquisition of my former employer (when that happens, you can almost expect to be laid-off in the near future as AECOM brings in their own people and guts the smaller firm that was swallowed up by AECOM). Also, too many layers of management... as a section head in a Middle Eastern office, I spent nearly as much time filling out endless forms and other corporate paperwork as I did on the actual project work at hand, along with constant non-productive meddling by various (needless) layers of management. The worker bees being managed were often more competent professionally than their often politically-motivated managers.
