Pros

I work with some wonderful individuals. Some managers allow their employees flexibility with their work schedule, including working from home.

Cons

The bureaucracy and red tape is out of control. The company is wholly run based only on the bottom dollar. Upper management is not concerned about employees in the least, but are instead focused solely on the current stock value. At the beginning of FY14, AECOM management stated acquisitions would stop and organic growth would be the focus. The announcement of the URS acquisition occurred around 7 months or so later. This is fairly demonstrative of AECOM's mode of operation. Preach one thins and do the exact opposite. An annual employee survey is conducted. The questions are changed every year, with each year's questions forcing more and more positive of a response. Then, they try to compare year over year results. You can't compare results when you change the questions every year! But, this gives them a more positive result, which is what they really want. Upper management doesn't want to really know employees are thinking. Instead, they want to be able to say how great AECOM is, and here are the survey results as proof. Additionally, any negatives they do acknowledge are swept under the rug as being on par with the industry, something no employees anywhere are pleased with, etc., etc.

Pros

Decent company, good stock plan, good people who want to see you grow

Cons

Very remote management makes things hard, very little team work is locally siloed so its hard for managers to understand the boots on the ground view. Managers are great people but spread very thin, sometimes they accept work before having staff for it(classic consulting move)
