Pros

Expected to contribute immediately, which lends itself to acquiring a lot of skills very quickly. Within your first couple of weeks you will be staffed on small deal teams and be working alongside partners with decades of investment banking experience. The firm itself is high volume, which means analysts are often staffed on 4-6 different sell-side engagements simultaneously, providing exposure to a number of different companies across the technology sector. Provides an opportunity to work with very bright, motivated, and competitive people, which can be a very exciting and rewarding experience. The firm has also made a concerted effort to bolster morale and foster a team environment through fun activities away from the office. Investment banking is a tough job, but there is an effort being made by the leadership of the firm to make everything more enjoyable

Cons

The analyst role at AGC Partners, like many investment banks, is very demanding. The hours are long and can be stressful. Because the firm is so high volume, there aren't the lulls analysts might see in other investment banks. More often than not, you show up with a lot of work to do in the morning and then after working a long day, you find yourself leaving knowing you still have a lot of stuff to do. For someone looking to acquire hands-on investment banking experience very quickly, then this could be a place for you.
