Pros
- Was able to better understand how M&A deals are made. Similarly, to all interns was involved in live deals, was responsible for daily reports on each deal, had a chance to work on a number of CIM slides and was given access to full information that pertained to deals. Was occasionally asked to do various tasks on other deals & pitches and had a chance to do a bit of financial modelling, ARR Analysis, Ratio Analysis. (Some menial tasks were involved but all seemed exciting to work on) - Supportive & friendly environment and a workplace where proactive approach, willingness to do additional/different tasks, to learn something new is always appreciated & welcomed. - Work hours for interns were extremely reasonable, Junior Bankers seem to work hours similar to industry averages (Company allowed employees to leave earlier on Fridays, which was a pleasant surprise). - Company organised a few social events and a one full day corporate event where we had a chance to interact with everyone including partners, CEO (who would meet with us quite regularly before the event as well) to perform a skit and to unwind at the end of the day with the Junior Bankers. 'Work hard, play hard motto' seems to be in place! - If you know what you are doing, plan to be proactive, appreciative towards an opportunity, AGC is a great place to be!
Cons
- Intern trainings were not always on schedule although most if not all were pre-recorded and easily accessible. - Daily research of a tech sub-segment industry, which all interns were involved in was not as exciting to work on every day, however at the end of it, tasks didn’t take up much time and one could always ask for extra deal work and would have been expected to prioritize it instead.
