Pros
The "3 years of experience in 1 year of working" is a typical banking concept, and one that especially holds true at AGC. As a junior banker you are expected to ramp quickly and take on more responsibility than is seen at other bulge-bracket & boutique firms. The constant deal flow, even in turbulent markets, coupled with lean deal teams requires analysts to contribute significantly, take on leading roles, and understand everything about the businesses you're working with across 4 - 5 live deals at a time. While this translates to long hours, the repetitions are invaluable in establishing a strong foundation of banking fundamentals and live transaction experience. If you are hardworking and want to learn fast, AGC is the place to do it. You learn to multi-task while executing at a high caliber and gain exposure to every phase of a deal, understanding how each granular piece fits into the broader M&A process. The firm has a great culture and hosts a lot of team building events and outings that allow you to get to know co-workers at every level. You also meet great friends who you want to spend time with outside of work.
Cons
Long hours - often weekend work, which means an inability to completely reset / unplug, which is sometimes needed. However, the hours come with the territory of the industry.
