Pros

Great social scene with added extras like breakfasts, jimmy's bar, cinema outings, gym facilities, massages, fruit .... Excellent talent to work with!

Cons

Work you hard. Can be stingy on the pay brackets and generally put you a title below your level, make sure you negotiate on arrival.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'm glad you enjoy being at AKQA and would love to chat further about we can support you and make things even better. I want to address your point regarding pay brackets. We do ensure we benchmark salaries against other leading companies to ensure we are rewarding our team for all their efforts. We do this across WPP, our industry and companies we admire. As we continuously push the boundaries for great work and creating the impossible its not going to be easy. But hopefully the labour of love pays off when you see your efforts being used by millions of people around the world. I also hope you have a good time on that journey, surrounded by great colleagues and a good work environment. Please do let me know any suggestions you have to help us improve. Best wishes, Sam Managing Director, AKQA sam@akqa.com

Pros

Design and Strategy teams on the west coast in 2021-2023 incredibly smart and strong in their craft. Overall it is hard not to be impressed with the output and some of what the brand can produce

Cons

NY and DC teams were unpleasant. Competitive fearful vibe compared to other creative and tech industries I have been in. My guess is because everything is based on what accounts and projects they can capture and during this time tech accounts were pulling out of further business as their markets slowed. WPP (the parent company) began lay offs and shuttered whole agencies exasperating this.
