Pros

Good entry level into AML/corporate work Plenty of people go from working retail and customer service jobs to this position Work from home opportunities (at least during COVID, might change in the future) Some clients will offer you bonus incentives to hit harsh deadlines

Cons

Dishonest and veiled corporate practices. The Company will hire some people on making 54-62K at my level, meanwhile most of us who were promoted to this level are paid 46-49K. Managers justify based on your client assignment. Grind culture to benefit the company, but the company treats all employees as replaceable cogs in the machine. High turnover is baked into the business model, so they can keep a revolving door of new hires in doing work at a low pay rate. Pay raises are only ever 2%, or 3-5% for being promoted and quintupling your work duties. Company does not reward hard work. You can crank out double the SARs or double the Narratives of your team's average, maintain that for 2+ years, and the company will rate you "meets expectations every time". Even maintaining the highest or nearly the highest quality score from QA doesn't land you "above expectations". You will work a lot of OT, and because the company pays you a salary, you don't get paid more. Company will never dip into its own coffers to pay bonuses, but will demand you work 50-60 hours to meet their client's deadline.

Pros

Individual managers you directly report to can be incredibly understanding and supportive. The work can be interesting.

Cons

It's a managed services company, and sometimes goals are unrealistic. Pressure can be intense. Managers are often promoted through the ranks and might not actually be cut out to manage people - it's highly variable. Sometimes you get unlucky. It tends to be writing intensive and requires attention to detail fr fr, and a lot of people overestimate their abilities.
