Pros

- Challenging work. - At my location there is free Sprite, Coke, Diet Coke, Hot Chocolate, and an assortment of Tea, and Coffee. - Weekly there is fresh fruit available. - First office I have worked in where no one really eats out as a group (good money saver). - Large fridge and freezer to store personal food in. - Sink, oven, toaster, and micro-wave available. - Dual monitors is the norm here and they have an aggressive upgrade cycle. - Very nice people to work with. - Everyone here at my location is mature and due to this there is no babysitting activities here. - Allowed to play any non-offensive entertainment during work (For me makes me feel more relaxed allowing me to deliver my best work.) - Ping pong table for those that enjoy a vigorous breaks during the day. - There is to a point stricture in place for career progression. - This company aggressively attempts to provide anything required to do your job. - This company has established core values. - Relaxed dress code at my office. - They pay for monthly Gym costs.

Cons

- Hiring process is often slow, even after the offer letter and the accepting of a position. It took ARI two weeks to allow me to start working after I accepted the position. It is amazing that despite this there are a lot of very good software engineers that work here. - For a software based company ARI is trying but seems to be more sales focused than tech focused. - Some of the normal tools for a software company are not provided or used (R#, nCover or some other coverage tool, style cop not used, etc.) Visual Studio Premium through a Gold membership is the extent of tools a software engineer gets here. - Software shop is spread over several locations and is not properly formalized. Test driven development is more of a wish than a reality and there are no real code standards in place. - Only desktops no laptops. - At the time of this writing, medical is barely OK, and dental only covers orthodontics for children which is substandard to other tech companies in the area. I would give the benefits a barely average rating overall. - There dose not seem to be a performance/raise program in place. This means to me that there is a high chance that due to inflation the company will essentially be telling you that you are worth less every year. - The bathroom situation at my current office location is less than desirable. The lock is hard to use the key on and there is only one toilet which is usually in use and one urinal. It is not uncommon to see a line in the restroom here.

ARI Network Services Response

I'm so glad that the work is challenging and you are enjoying the people and the work. All of the points you made will be passed along to help improve all facets. I appreciate your impatience and sense of urgency, no one wants to wait around when they are think about their future. This is why I responded to your application the same day, set up a call & interview and offer in the same week. :) I hope that expedited part of the hiring process was exciting and gave you positive thoughts. 2 weeks from job acceptance to a seat is out of respect for all new hires former employer and our team members that need to set things up. I'm sorry if that put any distress on you. Thank you again for taking the time to give us feedback. :) A'Lisa
