Pros

If you are not in the Pittsburgh office chances are you will get to travel several times a year on the company's dime. Very flexible with working hours and location, which is great if you have a family or are in school. The people who are doing the day to day work are fantastic, working late every day and on the weekends in order to ensure there are no product shortages.

Cons

As someone who wasn't in the main Pittsburgh office, I often felt excluded and isolated from the company and my department. I felt that the help I needed existed, but the support was not easy to obtain, meaning people were willing to help but management typically didn't facilitate. Lots of animosity in the department, especially with management, but also between how clients are handled. I worked for the company for a year and saw nearly half of the department leave the company, and many others looking for ways out of the department or the company. This was for a variety of reasons, but in my opinion was largely driven by the lack of advancement-as of my departure from the company you had to wait for someone else to change departments/retire/leave the company in order to be promoted. Those that were not actively looking to leave had built up quite a bit of vacation and did not want to lose it by leaving the company. This led to a lot of people becoming frustrated and feeling like they were not appreciated or valued. As for the client side of the business, Armada bows to the client and will at least attempt to do whatever is asked. This is great for them, but can lead to unique processes and procedures for each of the different clients, which can lead to gaps in competencies between people in the same department, as one client does things one way and another does things completely differently. If Armada is the supply chain expert, they should act like it and be more strict with the clients. In the long run, universal practices will help the clients as knowledge and lessons learned can be applied across Armada's entire network, rather than just one portion of it. They also literally do not have room, in the Pittsburgh office, to have every single employee show up to work on the same day-most cubes are assigned to two people. Outside of the department, there is also a lot of finger pointing between departments saying they screwed up. There are gaps and a lack of alignment between departments, often leading to people spending the majority of their time fire-fighting because "someone else screwed up" instead of strategizing and forming a united front with the clients. I believe this attitude has caused several of the clients to lose trust in Armada, which causes them to want to pull out of doing business.
