Pros
The noteworthy pros- it is a good resume builder for recent graduates, or someone trying to get into the industry. Training for that job was also excellent. It is a really easy job and the pay is ok.
Cons
Most the entry level coordinators are subtly encouraged to compete against each other and becuase of that there is poor teamwork. Employees on my own team seemed more interested in blaming others to make themselves seem better rather than solving issues. I belive this poor behavior is learned from upper management as well. Management is quick to place blame on coordinators for problems they should have been aware of. Some coordinators are paid slightly more than others. Most coordinators are forced to come in 5 times a month but one girl never had to come in becaue she lost her license. It bothered me that while others were busting their butt to come 5 times a month, a select few were rewarded for terrible reasons. They used to serve free lunch on thursdays but they stopped doing that most of the time. Pay is low compared to many other similar positions in the area. Has the potential to be great, but laziness of upper management holds them back as well as a competitive workplace culture. My team was without a proper manager for months. As soon as the new manager was hired he immediately began placing his poor perfomance on coordinators rather than just working with them. Dealing with upper management was a disaster and this forced me to find a higher paying job.
