Pros

fun meetings, great education, great colleagues. Pretty decent work life balance. Access to a lot of tremendous learning opportunities and great access to additional job opportunities.

Cons

There is not a whole lot of upward mobility. Outside associations look up to ASAE, but it too doesn't always do things as perfectly as one would expect.

The lower level staff and friendly and hard working, and we all have each others back. There is a true dedication at the lower staff level (director and below) to providing quality to our members.

Cons

The CEO is power hungry and quickly eliminates anyone who might be considered a rival or a threat to her power. The C-Suite panders to her who and doesn't stand up for the staff under them. Anything she wants she gets, which is stressful to staff as she constantly demands new programs without doing any kind of market or business analysis, and then staff are overworked and stressed having to churn out new programs that consistently fail.
