Pros

Work life balance. Employee discounts.

Cons

The company is splitting up into two where Boston is the front end, OmniChannel, marketing, sales, retail operations, etc. and Irvine is the back end, accounting, CS, IT, etc. Not sure whether the Irvine office will be permanently closed in the future. Previous management had lied multiple times about the move to Boston during all hands meeting while secretly acquiring office space and moving one department after another. Products are good, I meant, comparing with those from competitors, but the company does not know how to market/sell them. So far this year, it's been running BOGO free, 50% off, 40% off all year long, also an indication of the problem in product pricing strategy. The company is slow to pick up trends, e.g., its first knit products came almost 3 years after sneakers with knit uppers were introduced. It is not an international company, a lot of decisions are made in Japan, and Japan HQ usually send EVP strategy to most regions to "monitor" and direct local management. Things are not great in Japan HQ either. The weird culture of shuffling people around every once in a while resulting in people without professional knowledge/experience running an entire function, e.g., accounting manager moved to head a marketing unit, HR working in purchasing, etc. The problem is at the top and in Japan. Both Boston and Irvine office have seen huge turnovers in the past couple of years. Let's say the turnover rate in the regional HQ function same as that in retail. Profitability then is a non-brainer.

Great manager, amazing product that sells itself. Very reasonable and professional standards and practices. Felt valued, good discount for employees.

Cons

Some younger associates that aren’t geared for retail/don’t take it the most seriously but that’s retail
