Hello Former Employee,
Thank you for your years of service and feedback to help improve our company for future employees. We're sorry you felt the performance review process was not explained more clearly to you. In customer service, processes are measured by things like how fast issues were resolved, was it resolved, and if it needed to go to further escalations to resolve. Without these measurements we cannot see if there's a need for more employees working on issues, what type of issues, and/or if the employee may be having issues.
Raises, bonuses, and promotions are performance based and the budget for them is determined on how the business is doing at the time. If the company is not doing well there may not be a raise or bonus at all and make up for it another time when business is better. Is having a raise of something better than nothing at all in a time when business is not good? For an hourly employee, a 40 cent raise is close to an extra $1000 per year. Please understand we do try to have employee's best interest in mind. And please, next time let your manager/HR know if you have questions or concerns so that it can be talked through and clarified.
