Pros

Nothing over here is a pro. All of management discusses the 401k matching. This doesn't vest for 5 years, which less than 10% of the employees make that far.

Cons

This company drains the life out of you. Extremely inflexible. Everyone walks around worried about their job, because people get fired at an extremely high rate. Everyone who is good at what they do, gets fired at some point. Micromanagement from all managers. No ability to get data. IT barely functions. Awful ERP and management never thought of replacing it despite of all the issues that it possess to date. Incompetency across the board. Scientists are treated as garbage and we are known to be a stepping stone for scientists. Everyone in the labs is here for training to leave. The worst part about this place is the "total compensation package". We are told we are part of Manassas, so the pay is low for that reason. We are a part of DC, so our benefits are better than other DC area employers, which is wrong. Awful place.

Pros

- Benefits are pretty good -People I directly work with in the labs are good at their jobs - Manassas Campus has a convenient grab and go food area which helps out when I forget to pack a lunch / don't have time to go out and grab something -Closed between Christmas and New Years

Cons

- Needs better coverage for mental health care - It seems like a lot of money goes towards administrative areas, while the lab wings are pretty cramped. It badly needs an extension with additional lab spaces. - Company recently changed from biweekly paychecks to weekly paychecks, which limits the ability to flex time, and being salaried, overtime is not compensated. -Can be very difficult to climb the ladder. Admin staff seem to be promoted more easily than lab staff. - Large reliance on paper records - Management tends to rush implementation of new systems before they're ready - Even with this being a non-profit, C-suite management makes multi-hundred-thousand-dollar salaries, and the old CEO was making over $2M in 2024 while not contributing much. It's hard to believe they're in touch with the common employee - Dragged their heels on implementing parental leave until forced to by law. HR loves to emphasize the small things they implement. -No leave sharing program
