      Pros

      Great coworkers, direct supervisors tend to be pretty flexible, company is putting a lot of work into improving what they can to make it better. Work can be challenging, but it is interesting and engaging.

      Cons

      They will make large HR decisions about leave with little to no notice, don't give all the federal holidays off (big disadvantage for parents), and upper level management has little to no interaction with the people who actually do the work that they make money off of. General vibes depend greatly on which teams you are part of - some are great and others make people completely miserable. Things tend to be either full-support-all-steam-ahead, or it's like pulling teeth to get the resources that you need.

      Pros

      - Benefits are pretty good -People I directly work with in the labs are good at their jobs - Manassas Campus has a convenient grab and go food area which helps out when I forget to pack a lunch / don't have time to go out and grab something -Closed between Christmas and New Years

      Cons

      - Needs better coverage for mental health care - It seems like a lot of money goes towards administrative areas, while the lab wings are pretty cramped. It badly needs an extension with additional lab spaces. - Company recently changed from biweekly paychecks to weekly paychecks, which limits the ability to flex time, and being salaried, overtime is not compensated. -Can be very difficult to climb the ladder. Admin staff seem to be promoted more easily than lab staff. - Large reliance on paper records - Management tends to rush implementation of new systems before they're ready - Even with this being a non-profit, C-suite management makes multi-hundred-thousand-dollar salaries, and the old CEO was making over $2M in 2024 while not contributing much. It's hard to believe they're in touch with the common employee - Dragged their heels on implementing parental leave until forced to by law. HR loves to emphasize the small things they implement. -No leave sharing program
