The R&D department is held back by questionable leadership choices and unclear qualifications at the top. There is a strong sense of internal influence and behind-the-scenes politics that override fairness, transparency, and technical expertise. The environment often feels driven more by relationships than by merit. Highly technical roles — especially modeling — are treated as an afterthought. Anyone serious about doing actual R&D work will find the environment discouraging and stagnant.
