Pros

You can wear sweat pants to work. One of the Team Lead's wears sweats almost daily.

Cons

The owners are not business savvy at all. The two owners hype up the unsuccessful company and promise to get new credit unions to partner up with Autopay-- it never happens. The sales "Champions" as we were titled (which is just a cheesy way to hype up the sales position, which actually sounds unprofessional and ridiculous) have an incredibly hard time making a sale go through. We play the middle man between credit unions and customers. There is merely ONE credit union that will do loans nation wide. The other few, will do just a few measly states. Autopay has this out of date technology that we're to use, to find people the best rates out of the very few credit unions we work with. The rates are extremely high compared to banks and other lenders that the customer can easily go to. It takes many days for the deals to process, at Autopay, and the customer has to do a lot of work on their end. 90% of the time, the customer backs out, finds better rates elsewhere, or simply doesn't want the hassle of all the work that is required on their end. Autopay requires the customer to sign paperwork in front of a notary and drop off the singed paperwork at a FedEx store. Also many people don't feel comfortable sending their personal documents (social security card, etc.) via text or email. The owners pride themselves on conducting business in a new age style, but I felt that it was chaotic and not a successful way of doing things. Several credit unions have backed out with their partnership with Autopay-- for whatever reasons that I don't know, or feel confident with Autopay about. The owners and managers clearly lie and keep it a secret to cover up the reality of things. The owners think that micro managing is the way to go to start making their business a success. The training program was a 2 week program taught by an ex-collections specialist. I was confused as to why a collections specialist, who has never sold a thing in her life, would be teaching a sales position. The focus was on irrelevant material that had nothing to do with selling or the position itself. When I got on the floor to do my job, I was clueless as to what to do, and the manager was of absolutely no help. I had to learn by trial and error and could not make a single deal go through. They had told us that one particular sales rep made $10,000 to $18,000 a month, so I believed that the job could be very lucrative and stuck with it. Only to find out that it was absolutely IMPOSSIBLE for that rep to make so much money on commission. I do NOT appreciate being lied to be management about that. All phone calls are recorded and we would each have to do regular one-on-one "teaching" sessions on what we did wrong. We were essentially told to act like robots with no personality whatsoever, and do it the way the owners wanted us to do it-- to a T. The managers are also not business savvy and are brain washed by the owners, believing that Autopay is an up and coming business. It's a small company where they used to do collections, and just recently have experimented with the refinancing part. I felt like a guinea pig, and did not appreciate the lies and promises that new credit unions were coming on board, that would actually give us competitive rates to work with. I believed that one day I could actually compete with what's out there. It's a very immature business that is run by amateurs. The people they hire are young and inexperienced, so they can take the micro managing and be naïve enough to believe that that's the way to treat employees. They can also afford to live off minimum wage that 95% of the reps make. The only way anybody can make any sort of commission is if you can manage to sell a warranty service that costs the customer thousands of dollars. I felt it was a rip off to the customer and did not feel comfortable selling something that I did not believe the customer needed or wanted. This place is a joke. If you want to be a robotic guinea pig without freedom, making minimum wage, this is the place to go. They hire anybody!

Pros

The pay plan here is fantastic and stable, with no sudden changes, providing peace of mind and consistency. There’s a lot of opportunity to earn significant commissions, which keeps motivation high. One of the standout features of this role is the sheer volume of hot leads — more than I’ve ever seen in a sales job before. This makes it much easier to engage with potential customers and close deals quickly. The product itself is not only top-tier but also highly beneficial to customers, which makes selling it both enjoyable and rewarding. Overall, this is an excellent environment for anyone looking to succeed in sales.

Cons

While there are occasional issues with processes and systems, they are usually addressed and resolved quickly, so they don’t tend to cause long-term disruption. Additionally, like any sales role, market fluctuations can impact performance, but this is to be expected in the industry.

Pros

pay can be decent to great if you can manage to close applications. A lot of it is dependent on the leads that you get. working from home is a plus, depending on your manager, not micromanaging but can vary. People can be helpful.

Cons

Quotas and minimums are moving up to an unrealistic number from management who does not care about you. leads have become very bad and have to deal with angry customers due to false advertising from credit karma. Place has become extremely punitive. You dont do this, expect a write up. If you do bad one month, your pay is subpar for the work you put in. Not one department minus HR like each other, so you have to navigate everything to yourself, especially if your manager is not good. Taking time off can set you back and can be hard to do so. The same top 10 people have been there for years, and do not really see new names consistently.
