Pros
Wide range of experience, if you're just getting into geotech/construction testing field. You'll do everything from geotech explorations to concrete testing. If you're salaried you get your hourly wage for hours over 40. You're also outside constantly which is nice.
Cons
Hours can be inconsistent if you're not salaried. When there were long periods of rain some hourly people weren't always able to get all the time they needed, more of a issue with this field rather than the company here though. Long hours in the summer. If there's daylight we were working. Personal car, job doesn't supply cars so this puts a lot of wear on your car as you are constantly driving to job sites all over the county and neighboring counties. Job does pay mileage though.
