Cons
Overall A&F continues to have a toxic culture! HR will say that the culture has changed and it has definitely gotten better now Mike is gone but don't be fooled! There are still tons of cliques and if you aren't an "Abercrombie kid", don't even bother. They claim they are hiring from outside the company to get new ideas and a fresh perspective but if you didn't start your career at Abercrombie, you might as well be a leper. I came from another company and any idea I presented was immediately shot down or not even listened to. They continue to have a system of promoting based on how long you've been working there so many managers have no experience and have been able to rise up the ranks even though they have no experience and were not ready to be promoted. Managers who are left over from the "Mike Days" and still have favor with HR are lazy and rude. Most of my coworkers were lazy and whiny compared to coworkers I've had at other companies. Also, they are changing the Merchant role and have essentially made it obsolete. Merchants used to just do production but they are handing that over to a Production & Sourcing team. Planning will continue to have control of all financials so Merchants won't really be needed soon. Honestly this company hasn't had a good season in years and will probably be filing for bankruptcy in the next few years so my suggestion is stay away!
