Pros

Daylight hours; close to home

Cons

Not given the tools to do the job. IT is the worst.. never had I ever worked in such a dysfunctional environment. Always short staffed because there is no disciplinary action that takes place; informed certain people are good workers but they call off a lot— regardless if your a good worker or not if you don’t come to work it’s not beneficial. Felt like I was set up for failure from the beginning. My personal opinion is they aren’t helping these patients just enabling them. Always informed we turn no one away regardless if it’s end of day or not… I get that but they are in it more for the numbers than patient care. Was informed if we don’t keep numbers up there will be layoffs. Training was a joke. Felt more micromanaged and just waiting to get called in the office for this or that. Seems like they hide a lot of stuff and don’t want a new set of eyes in their facility to call them out on their bull.

Pros

Ability to work from home, bonus money is decent, and overtime is pretty abundant.

Cons

Cons: Management showed very little compassion or flexibility during serious medical situations. I was dealing with severe spinal cord compression and kept my supervisor informed every step of the way. My doctor’s appointment had to be rescheduled due to a tornado threat, and the physician was unexpectedly out until the following Monday, which delayed my documentation. Despite being upfront and communicative, I was terminated before I could even obtain the note. Losing my job and health insurance in the middle of a serious medical crisis was devastating. The role itself can also feel emotionally draining because intake staff are often left handling upset patients and families without enough support from the facilities. I had to reschedule my surgery so I couldn’t get married and put on my Husband’s insurance, kind of sucks a healthcare company would do an employee that way!
