Cons:
Management showed very little compassion or flexibility during serious medical situations. I was dealing with severe spinal cord compression and kept my supervisor informed every step of the way. My doctor’s appointment had to be rescheduled due to a tornado threat, and the physician was unexpectedly out until the following Monday, which delayed my documentation. Despite being upfront and communicative, I was terminated before I could even obtain the note. Losing my job and health insurance in the middle of a serious medical crisis was devastating. The role itself can also feel emotionally draining because intake staff are often left handling upset patients and families without enough support from the facilities. I had to reschedule my surgery so I couldn’t get married and put on my Husband’s insurance, kind of sucks a healthcare company would do an employee that way!
