Pros
Not many companies have faith in people starting at such a young age, Acadian helps you grow. I started here at the age of 19… where most of my friends were starting to get into core classes in college I was making a difference in people’s lives by assisting them in their time of need. Being an EMT then a Paramedic has been so rewarding. And the learning never stops. Our company is constantly evolving with the evolution of the industry. I’ve worked in many different fields within the company. I’ve taught EMT/Paramedic skills at the EMS academy. I’ve been a field and dispatch supervisor. I have taught orientation to our new hires. The roles are endless with this company. You can move to different departments within the company pretty easily if you have the right mindset, I would have never thought I would be working in information technology when I started on the ambulance side of things. But having that background has made me a better employee within IT. I understand what the medics have gone through and know what it feels like when a system is down and how important it is to get that system back up and running smoothly so the medics and transport patients/customers and keep the system flowing.
Cons
Every company has its problems. Acadian is no exception to this. You just need to work through them and not let them bother you.
