Pros

You have many opportunities working with Fortune 500 companies around the world. Because of this, building new skills is easy as long as you put forth the effort. It's also easy to build relationships (even with senior management) giving you a good network and support throughout your career.

Cons

The overtime and travel is expected for most employees. Accenture also has a high turnover rate. I've worked there eight years and according to a metric which Accenture publishes 87% of people within the company have joined AFTER me. I attribute most of this to work/life balance situations. It's simply not feasible to expect people to work the overtime and travel as much as they do. The other down side is the way the employees are slowly pushed out over time because of the meritocracy/laddering based practice. It's easy to stay with the company early in your career as an Analyst and Consultant, but as you get promoted to executive much more is expected of you to keep up with your peers. If you do not perform high enough in comparison with your peers then you are counceled out. This leads to good people leaving the company because there is only so much some people can do without impacting their family life. Bottom line is you have to ask yourself how much of your life you want to sacrifice. Usually when you are young and come in new to the company that is not an issue, but as you get married and have kids you re-assess the decision later in your career. This is why Accenture has a greater number of younger people in their workforce.

Pros

Great way to get experience working with social media companies, learned a lot about politics, news, advertising, social media company, marketing, job postings and tech sales. In the project I was part of I learned a lot about the world. Most of my bosses were genuinely amazing but I did cycle through a good few. You learn a lot about working with fortune 100 clients. The consultants are nice to work with. You get experience training people, working with a wide variety of teams. Pretty good pay for my experience at the time, the hiring team is very nice and the hiring process was easy. Also I was given a therapist due to the nature of the work. Also got an hour of paid wellness, which was nice but I think that just extended the workday by one hour for no real reason. It does feel like important and purposeful work.

Cons

The project I was assigned to was not as traumatic as some other ones thankfully. But you see a lot of things, you see how crazy the world and the internet can be, which in these times can be hard to watch. I didn't get an annual raise.

Pros

There are a lot of pros working for Accenutre. They have great career opportunities, a never ending supply of interesting work, competitive compensation, wonderful benefits, great people, wonderful training programs, a tremendous number of brilliant professionals in their fields ready to help, and great core values.

Cons

This is not an opportunity for those that do not want to work. At Accenture everyone has a load of work to do and often times under very tight customer time lines. It is a challenge that I enjoy but many might find it stressful.
