Pros

If you're looking for a place to use as a stepping stone then this company is a great starting block. However, if you're looking for somewhere to build a career then be prepared to suck up to everyone and anyone. Freedom lives the literal definition of Succession Planning - waiting for someone to die or move on from their role for you to have a 'chance' to advance. Having worked in the HR space, I can tell you that nepotism is rampant, lack of concern towards diverse candidates (don't read or see into their marketing/branding it's a front) - it's not positioned well as a place that values diverse perspectives and backgrounds (go see for yourself).

Cons

Below industry standards for pay No career advancement Stereotypical male-dominated leadership Engineering, Product, Leadership (Manager and above), Data, Marketing are treated as first-class citizens; everyone else is treated like dirt (go read the front-line support roles - those reviews speak volumes). The core values are all hoopla, standard fluff, just writing on the wall.

Pros

- The people are generally very kind and collaborative broadly. - I believe the company is genuine in its mission to only earn profits by helping everyday Americans move forward on the path to a better financial future. - The company at large and some of its leaders aren't afraid to try things and then pivot if they don't work to try something else, instead of doubling down over pride or ego or stubbornness.

Cons

- There's a lack of clear and strategic leadership that leaves job ambiguity, which places the employee at a disadvantage with performance measurement, which is how they award quarterly bonuses. Without clear SMART goals, it becomes a game of bring me a rock, but not that rock. - Towards the end, they were implementing a start-up entrepreneurial mindset style that was leaning away from valuing work/life balance and getting more demanding and desperate in attempts to meet metrics.
