Achievement First Response
10yThank you for your hard work in serving our scholars. Last year, we declared that one of our organizational priorities was around talent. We want to be the destination of choice for a diverse group of teachers and leaders who are looking to rapidly develop their own skills and to have a breakthrough impact on scholars and communities. We want the AF Team and Family – especially our teachers – to truly thrive at Achievement First and feel great about what they do and how they do it, so they can build a career over the long term with AF.
AF is, and will remain a place where kids are at the forefront – the opportunity gap in the communities that we serve demands and deserves exceptional energy – but we are examining the ways we can structure our work to allow people to truly thrive here. Some of these ideas, which are in various stages of conversation and piloting, are:
o Providing even more high-quality curricular resources
o Prioritizing staff re-teaching same grade/subject if and when they want to
o Exploring the potential impact of options like staggered schedules and having a stronger and more intentional approach to coverage
We want to work in schools where people feel heard, appreciated, connected, and cared for, and we are supporting our leaders to make sure their schools allow people to thrive at AF.
