Pros
Got to update my wardrobe, met a few genuine people, and got a free water during the interview.
Cons
Driving is a huge part of this job, with many teams regularly going as far as Rocky Mount and Fayetteville (the Costcos and Sam's Clubs around Raleigh are seldom used for some reason). These far distances will eat-up gas and cut the paycheck in half (making me earn almost nothing). This would be a minor inconvenience if I did get reimbursed, however according to the new 2019 IRS Mileage states that "taxpayers can no longer claim a miscellaneous itemized deduction for unreimbursed employee travel expenses". Acquire has failed to mention this, and leads everyone to believe that this is still a fair stipulation in their contracts. There is a very low retention rate of "marketing assistants" within the organization. They try to hide this fact by using the same workers in each of the photos, that are in fact part of the administrative team. Even today I've seen people come in for multiple interviews, where it is not uncommon for people to come for a week and then leave. There are literally no benefits with this job, not even professional ones. There is no 401k, there is no dental plan and there is no perks. Dishonesty is one of the biggest problems with this whole organization. The level of dishonesty and falsehood that is displayed online and in-person. The boss is taking advantage of people who really want a chance to prove themselves, by giving them almost nothing while profiting off of their hard work. They advertise one title, and give a completely different one. Even to my face they lied about the true amount of commissions.
