Changing For The Worse; Cruel Employee Treatment - Regional Sales Manager Act-On Software Employee Review

Pros

I'm drawing a blank. Free Red Bull and snacks?

Cons

Like other companies on Glassdoor, Act-On constantly pushes executives and praise-seeking employees to leave positive reviews. Don't buy the hype. Morale is horrible and performance is weak. This was once a strong, fun company with great people - but those days are gone. Some of the good people are still there, but most have left - either forced out by the cliquish, 'old boys club' that's since taken over the organization. If you see Act-On's 'CEO responses' on Glassdoor as anything other than patronizing attempts to discredit people in the know, and undermine accurate criticism, you haven't met Andy or his hand-picked masochist cronies in "leadership". The old leadership team was comprised of human beings who'd generally at least TRY to treat people respectfully. I'm not naive to the cut-throat nature of SaaS sales roles- but the new mid-market leadership team actually takes pleasure in flexing their muscles and messing with - and ultimately letting go - quality, veteran staff. This will ultimately lead to failure. My only hope is that they can manage to sell while the company has value for employee shareholders who built the company before things crater.

Pros

Act-on has since been purchased, but my experience was very positive. They were the last standing marketing company to not be gobbled up by a larger corporation. The product was superior to Adobe/Salesforce/Oracle’s and engineering staff super-passionate.

Cons

Executive staff was mainly on a treadmill.

Pros

They offer a partial fitness reimbursement for your gym membership.

Cons

They will say they have modern, progressive values. It’s a deception. When it comes down to it, the only thing they stand for is protecting leadership. Even the company’s bottom line comes second to appeasing senior leaders. This company punishes dissent and tolerates bullying when the perpetrators are friendly with senior leadership. Desperation after years of poor performance have created a toxic environment where leaders cover for their mistakes by isolating and targeting those who disagree with them. Dishonest. The least transparent company I’ve ever worked for. You will hear one thing one day and be told the opposite the next day on your way out the door.
