Pros

Engineering working to improve product. Platform could be strong competition in market. Many committed smart people have worked at this company, but, egocentric leadership is killing it.

Cons

Company has lost its sense. Executive team is a click. Officers are leading company backward. Moving HQ to downtown Portland, OR to “attract better talent” backfired. Immediately following move, there were lay-offs to make up for tripling the cost of workspace. The move was a poorly vetted idea which set the company back, but, boosted the egos of a few execs. More lay-offs followed, and recently, closure of satellite offices. Businesses are losing trust in the company’s solidity due to lack of innovation, reductions in customer service, and repeated lay-offs.

Pros

Act-on has since been purchased, but my experience was very positive. They were the last standing marketing company to not be gobbled up by a larger corporation. The product was superior to Adobe/Salesforce/Oracle’s and engineering staff super-passionate.

Cons

Executive staff was mainly on a treadmill.

Pros

They offer a partial fitness reimbursement for your gym membership.

Cons

They will say they have modern, progressive values. It’s a deception. When it comes down to it, the only thing they stand for is protecting leadership. Even the company’s bottom line comes second to appeasing senior leaders. This company punishes dissent and tolerates bullying when the perpetrators are friendly with senior leadership. Desperation after years of poor performance have created a toxic environment where leaders cover for their mistakes by isolating and targeting those who disagree with them. Dishonest. The least transparent company I’ve ever worked for. You will hear one thing one day and be told the opposite the next day on your way out the door.
