There are no sick time off hours which is a major red flag for anyone who works directly with kids in the healthcare industry. I was sick with a 104 fever and was forced to return to work the next day. Even just 3 hours would have been enough.
Also, 30min breaks are not enough. By the time im able to clock out ive already taken 2 - 3 mins, sometimes 5 off my break.
There is also a high turn over rate and it seems like they just hire anyone. During my training there were a lot of inappropriate conversations. As someone with prior ABA experience, ABA is not just another job and there needs to be an empahsis on that during the training. We are literally working with the most vulnerable population.
Also a lot of my trainers would talk with therapist during the session when shadowing about hanging out, going out for drinks, vacations, ect which is not the first impression i want to have when working with children in a professional setting. Id often see therapist leave their patient on their own for over 15mins, sometimes a whole hour.
My center also just seemed really dirty, it was the dirtiest ABA clinic ive ever worked at. Im not understanding why they leave the staff lounge full of stains or why we even still have carpet. Its really uncomfortable to be there during my break. I visited other clinics and they were so much cleaner.
