In my experience, upper management and HR lacked the professionalism and consistency needed to effectively support operations. The company promotes a positive and inclusive culture, yet one of the primary performance metrics for Operations Managers is employee retention. While retention is important, I felt this sometimes discouraged leaders from holding employees appropriately accountable for performance and conduct issues.
I also found HR investigations and employee relations processes to be inconsistent. As a manager, I often felt that allegations were treated as fact before a thorough review was completed, creating an environment where leaders could feel vulnerable to unsubstantiated claims.
Benefits were another significant disappointment. Healthcare premiums for a family plan were among the highest I have encountered in my career. For a family of four, I paid nearly $1,000 per month in premiums, and I found the overall value of the coverage to be poor compared to other employers I have worked for.
Overall, I would not recommend ABC as an employer and would encourage candidates to carefully evaluate the company's leadership structure, HR practices, and benefits package before accepting a position.
