Pros

The kids are amazing and make the long days worth it. Free lunch on friday. They let you drink beer at staff meetings.

Cons

Nearly everything. I wouldn’t trust a lot of the positive reviews you see online because they have employees write fake reviews. Very shady company, they even try to make you sign a non disclosure agreement when separating from the company so that you can’t speak badly about them. Horrible communication and things change every day. Very greedy, money hungry company. Super unorganized. Management has zero control over the operations of the clinic. Especially with all of the COVID things going on and companies showing their true colors and who actually values their employees and who doesn’t, this is definitely a company that does NOT value their employees and treats them like they’re disposable. This is not the type of company you want to work for because your job could be gone at any moment with them.

We’d like to be direct in that we do not have employees write fake reviews or incentivize employees to leave reviews in any way. Although your experience with ABC may not have been positive, we have hundreds of happy employees, many of whom have been with the company since it started. The kids and employees are our top priority. It is a difficult time for the entire world as we are currently facing COVID-19 together. ABC has done everything in our power to ensure we are making the right decisions for our employees and for our clients. We have the obligation to provide essential healthcare services to our kiddos, as well as paychecks to our people. We are navigating the everyday changes and updates from CDC, WHO, and NGOs to inform our own decision making and policies - we’ve asked staff to be flexible with these changes. We value our people and respect everybody’s choice to continue actively working or to take time to shelter at home during this time. We’re still covering the cost of health benefits for those staff who are temporarily furloughed. Additionally, we’ve given all active therapists a temporary $2/hour pay increase and have guaranteed hours even if a client is absent, which is unlike any other ABA provider. Most businesses and industries are being faced with difficult decisions during the COVID-19 crisis, and we feel we’ve made the right decisions for ABC and have provided the very best we can for our people. The fact that we have the highest retention rate of any ABA provider in the industry speaks for itself. Additionally, we have systems in place that ensure employee jobs could not just be gone at any moment. If there are any issues with performance, we have evaluations and Support Plans with clear goals for improvement. We have very high standards for staff performance at ABC. The work we do for kids on the autism spectrum is extremely important, and we won’t settle for low performers. We reward those who work hard and do a good job, and have to sometimes make tough decisions for those who don’t meet our standards. We have the chance to change children’s lives and drastically impact their futures. We take that responsibility very seriously.

Pros

Benefits, PTO, and decent flexibility is some of the few positive for Action. Having upper management and leadership that actually listens to employee concerns and works toward practical solutions is probably the top pros.

Cons

Tech issues can arise more often than liked. But they are typically resolved quickly.

Pros

This is the first review I have ever written for an organization. Having been with ABC for over three years now and in our field for under a decade, I feel like I have a good grasp of our field, careers as a clinical supervisor and challenges that come with longevity in center based pediatric ABA services. My time with ABC has been full of laughter, camaraderie, learning and constant development. I have given it my all and the company has reciprocated. Through thick and thin, changes in the organization and evolution of my current role, I have been treated with respect and fairness. There is transparency, awareness and most importantly, humility to acknowledge missteps and correct them.

Cons

The role is draining. You are constantly trying to appease junior clinicians, therapists and families. After doing it for a few years, you feel the fatigue. What gets me energized is spending time with other clinicians and celebrating them. I look forward to summits and gatherings where we can put the day to day aside for a moment and acknowledge and recognize each other.
