Note: This review is primarily for my local area of employment not Activision as a whole. - This is the best Job I have ever had, and I would recommend it to just about anyone. - Entertaining workspace. | There are people from all walks of life at the QA office who are funny, enjoy similar hobbies, and genuinely kind. - Coworkers. | The people around I work with are what make this job great. - Caring local leadership. | The leadership team is deeply caring and will work with you to make your time here as good as possible and will assist in your career growth to the best of their abilities. - Flexible. | This is far and away the most flexible work environment I've had. - Diversity. | There are people from all walks of life who offer great insight into different ways of thinking. - Career Opportunity. | There are a ton of career opportunities, you just have to be brave, flexible, and ambitious enough to chase them. - Benefits. | Overall, pretty decent benefits that are available to entry level positions as well. - Solid pay for position. | Overall, the pay is pretty solid.
Cons
- Highly competitive growth track. | Limited positions with high numbers of people and even higher levels of talent can make it difficult to move up or laterally. - High stress work. | Game development work is high stress, no matter how passionate you are about games or what area you work in. - Executive level drama. | Things far out of anyone's control can cause local level stress. - Low pay for the area of operation. | Cost of Living in the operating location is a little high in comparison to the pay rate. - Burnout. | It is exceptionally easy to get burnt out in this line of work.
