Pros

4-Day workweek and convenient location. Great experience for a fresh out of college person - this way they can quickly learn what type of companies to avoid in the future.

Cons

Acuity contacted me, wanting me to come work for them... big mistake. The position and company was not as it was described. The pay and hours were nice, but the never ending ridiculous politics, procedures, standard work, and total lack of direction was a nightmare. Re-Orgs happen so frequently that you stop paying attention to them, and typically have no clue who works where anymore (or if they are with the company). Turnover is really bad, even for experienced Engineers, Designers, and Product Managers. Acuity has little respect for personal well-being and has no problem working someone to the point of a heart-attack. HR is a disgrace to the industry - I had to figure out who my HR "manager of the week", was by asking coworker who quit the previous week (because my manager did not know..lol) Start treating production workers, managers, and engineers like valued employees. From my experience in product launch, you cannot get through a successful product release without 50% turnover in the production group. These people are putting in 70-80 hours a week, and treated like crap by management and QC.

Pros

Fully remote, collaboration is excellent with Sales and Engineering teams. Nice people.

Cons

Onboarding was awful. Tend to turnover people frequently, always around April and October, which coincides with their fiscal year. HR people are never the same for very long. Medical benefits are ok. Questionable ethics in the Legal & Compliance Dept of all places. It's evidenced with all the legal counsel they have hired, there are more of them than there are customer service people it seems. It pays the bills, but it's not a job one should count on for long term. It seems the strategy is hire with high pay, but let go within a year. Seen it happen to many people.
