Pros
Continues to gain stock value because of visionary leadership, experienced management, and employees with purpose and pride in their work. I experienced a few challenges that come with navigating the shifting currents in the market, and managing a large organization, but for those who can adapt and perform, the opportunity to grow professionally and move up in the organization is great. Pay and benefits are very competitive, but advise negotiating best compensation at start of any role, as increases are incremental without promotion. Culture of continuous improvement is encouraging to those who are motivated and aspirational, but a degree of patience and persistence is required for success as the company is process driven. The four-day work week definitely makes Acuity more attractive to professionals seeking work/life balance.
Cons
Office environment is nice for manufacturing, but not what many Atlanta corporate execs might be accustomed to; there are a number of senior managers, directors, and even VP's in cubes. Frequent departmental reorganizations can be disruptive, and poor planning, execution, and communication during these transitions is frustrating.
