Pros

Benefits and pay were average, nice building, free gym cafe in breakroom, good location, ample parking, some great coworkers and managers,

Cons

Horribly micromanagement and condescending attitudes. Management is never wrong. No work flexibility at all. (Work from home not allowed unless you are executive or have an “in” with board members). No room for growth. Executive team is cliquey and has outdated views. Really went downhill once CFE became Addition. Weekly “employee enrichment meetings” are useless and a huge waste of time.

We're sorry to hear you had some negative work experiences despite your long service period with us. We would like to address a few of your comments for the benefit of others reading this. Regarding remote work, none of our executives are working remotely and most have been working onsite for the duration of the pandemic. Individual remote work arrangements are at the discretion of department management and many of our current corporate team members are working a hybrid in-office / remote schedule. Regarding growth, we are incredibly proud to share that over 50% of our positions are filled internally through transfers and promotions. While not all positions can be filled internally due to operational needs, we strive to create pathways for growth through our leadership development programs, job shadowing initiative, and ongoing training. Despite a 90%+ satisfaction rating with our two paid hours of professional development each week, we understand that topics chosen for our biweekly all-staff webinars will not always be of interest to all team members, which is why we encourage team members to suggest topics of interest and invite team members from all over the credit union to come and share what they are working on for the benefit of all to hear. Best of luck to you as you continue in your career!

Worked with the entire department and understood how everyone collaborated. Met the other interns in different departments. Good management overall.

Cons

No other interns in that department to share the experience.

Pros

- Supportive coworkers who made the work environment more enjoyable. - Opportunities for continuous education and professional development.

Cons

- Compensation did not align with workload, with minimal raises and limited financial recognition for tenure. - Executive leadership often appeared disconnected from frontline operations. Interactions with staff were frequently perceived as dismissive or condescending. (Shirley Shoemaker & Kevin Dougherty) - Policies were enforced inconsistently, sometimes undermining employees in front of members. - PTO was restricted during holidays for most staff, while leadership had greater flexibility. - Employee feedback was not always received openly, with some actions creating a perception of retaliation. Often by “promoting” individuals to branches on the opposite side of town. - Pressure to meet sales goals conflicted with the company’s “members first” messaging. - Employees were strongly encouraged to participate in “best of” voting, raising concerns about authenticity. - Safety concerns were not always handled with urgency. In one instance, after being threatened by a customer and contacting the risk team, the response was minimal, which left me feeling unsupported.
