      Pros

      Big on education and credentials and training. Supported and coached when I make a mistake (not disciplined). I learn a lot, the doctor I work with is a good teacher so I feel like I'm becoming a better/smarter nurse. The officers are great. I know they're there to keep me safe but they're also really good people too. I like knowing that in some small way I am making the world a better place by helping inmates. No two days are EVER the same!

      Cons

      We have to deal with some heavy stuff, high profile cases, suicide, etc. This job isn't for emotionally weak people. You have to compartmentalize.
