Pros
The Core Values ACH trains their employees to recognize on a daily basis will last a lifetime professionally and beyond. It is refreshing to know peers appreciate efforts made to help make ACH a great place to work. Because of the emphasis ACH puts into the Core Values, I'm more observant of things others do in the outside world and am able to express my gratitude which impacts the lives of others. That's a really good feeling. Along with a generous amount of PTO & sick time, ACH offers employees flex time with approval from the department manager. Employees can make up time needed for an appointment by working a modified schedule. For example, if an employee needs to leave an hour early one day, instead of using PTO, the employee can take 30 minute lunches (vs 1 hour) to make up for the time lost when leaving an hour early. The flexibility makes a HUGE difference in every day life happenings. St. Jude is ACH's charity of choice and employees are given many OPTIONAL (emphasis on OPTIONAL - never pressured!!) opportunities to contribute from things like sales of break room snacks, jeans days, partnerships with local vendors to donate a portion of its sales, and silent auctions to name a few of the many ways. It is great to have an opportunity to make an impact every day.
Cons
*Benefits are expensive, but there are multiple plan options to choose from and it is good coverage with a well known provider. *Limited opportunities to meet more field employees, but I'm not sure if it is even reasonably possible to make that happen. *ACH Corp has many strong leaders from the Millennial generation and I wonder if it may eventually limit the career advancement of those coming up behind them. However, as the company continues to grow, more career opportunities may present themselves. In the meantime, ACH offers many opportunities for employees to gain in their skill set and prepare themselves for the next step whatever that may be. I'm sure it is all in the plan.
