Pros
Employees at every level are treated with equality and respect, but with that comes responsibility. Performance and promotion are based on metrics, not favoritism or bias. Basically, you can have what you want to work for. Retaining good employees is important to us, but that's not to say we're unreasonable about pay or promotions. Personal and family life is very important to management and they encourage dedication to family, hobbies and even volunteerism. Good balance here. Best place I've ever worked, and I've been working for several decades. Great benefits and always something fun going on.
Cons
I wouldn't call it a con, but we work hard to keep our standards and serve members of the credit union. There's frequent introspection of the organization and initiatives to become better. Always a higher standard to define and achieve, but is that a bad thing? I don't think so -- it just presents a constant challenge. Someone who just wants to get by or slide thorough their work life won't be happy here, but that's how we keep it a great place to work.
