Pros
Wonderful work helping people deal with the end of their life issues. Patients appreciative of all you do. Pays on a salary basis, pays weekly, pays for mileage, pleasant staff, good orientation provided to new hires (about 2 weeks). Essentially an "easy" job per other nursing employees as long as you completing job description. Appeared complacent with family life in first several weeks of hire.
Cons
Nurses responsible for all case management for each individual client-- talking to insurance companies for continued hospice care. Is more of a care management position; time limit with each pt not to exceed 20 minutes/visit. They take off a certain amount of mileage they don't pay for (25 miles a day). If that's all you drive for the (25 miles), there is no reimbursement that day. Have to see each client at least twice a week--30 or more visits a week. Unaware of conflicts with other staff not communicated directly to me before administration (I was a new hire).
